It's been awhile...

So, it's been awhile since I've been able to post an update. We had a snow day today, and Renee is napping, so I thought it would be the perfect time!

Renee is almost one already- I'm not sure where the time has gone. It was just a year ago that I started getting sick, and had no idea that much sooner than expected, I would be able to hold the best gift in my arms. It's been quite a ride, and it only gets better. Renee is crawling, pulling herself up to stand, and "side walking" while hanging onto something for balance. She has attempted to let go, but after a couple of tough face plants into tables, she's been cautious.

Our first Christmas with Renee was a blast. All of her grand parents were here, as well as her Aunt Cathy and Uncle Chris. The living room was a sea of gifts, and Renee had no idea what to look at first. She of course preferred ribbon to the new toys, but we expected that!

Renee has started to eat table food, and prefers bread products (she is certainly her mommy's daughter!). We are excited to take her for her one year appointment to see how big she's gotten. I can't wait to turn her car seat around. We switched her to a big girl car seat before Christmas, since the infant car seat started to get really heavy. What a relief!

Mmmm...carrots!

She seems to like vegetables...so far.

Renee loves Mr. Caterpillar!

Happy girl with chubby cheeks!

Daddy made new company uniforms!

She has a good time eating cereal!

This was the first time she sat in her high chair.

Ready for a walk.

She started sucking her thumb this month.

Renee is 6 months old now! She went for her physical and immunizations today, and handled it like a trooper. She is now 15 pounds 4 ounces (30th percentile) and is 26 inches long (49th percentile). She isn't crawling yet, but can do what her pediatrician calls the "army crawl". Her hair is coming in thick, and is darker than it was at birth. We think her hair will be strawberry blond.
Her favorite things to do are suck on whatever she can get to her mouth, ride in her wagon, and fly with her daddy. She is definitely a daddy's girl! Scott can always get her to laugh and smile.

5 month check up

Renee had a big day today! She had her 5 month check up at the pediatrician. Renee now weighs 13 pounds, 15 ounces (30th percentile) and is 23.75 inches long (10th percentile). The doctor told us that we would have to keep Renee on her preemie formula until she is one (bummer) but that we could start her on rice cereal at any time (yay!). The first try with cereal was fun and messy! Renee grabbed her spoon and held it, and had fun drooling the formula on my hands. Oh well. We'll try it again tomorrow!

Renee is 5 months old today! I'm not sure where the time goes. She is rolling over now and is able to move her arm out from under her body. She wants to crawl, and is trying hard to figure it out.
Another first this week...Renee has her first cold. Her little nose runs all the time, and she sounds a little bit like a pig. No major fever (99 degrees, so far), but the crankiness has been difficult. She is a lot more tired, and fights it more than ever. Last night was like the first week we were home- I was up with her 5 times in the night!
Scott got a video camera for his birthday (thanks Mom and Dad C!), so we have taken tons of video. We will be adding videos to the blog soon...
