Renee is 6 months old now! She went for her physical and immunizations today, and handled it like a trooper. She is now 15 pounds 4 ounces (30th percentile) and is 26 inches long (49th percentile). She isn't crawling yet, but can do what her pediatrician calls the "army crawl". Her hair is coming in thick, and is darker than it was at birth. We think her hair will be strawberry blond.
Her favorite things to do are suck on whatever she can get to her mouth, ride in her wagon, and fly with her daddy. She is definitely a daddy's girl! Scott can always get her to laugh and smile.

5 month check up
Renee had a big day today! She had her 5 month check up at the pediatrician. Renee now weighs 13 pounds, 15 ounces (30th percentile) and is 23.75 inches long (10th percentile). The doctor told us that we would have to keep Renee on her preemie formula until she is one (bummer) but that we could start her on rice cereal at any time (yay!). The first try with cereal was fun and messy! Renee grabbed her spoon and held it, and had fun drooling the formula on my hands. Oh well. We'll try it again tomorrow!

Renee is 5 months old today! I'm not sure where the time goes. She is rolling over now and is able to move her arm out from under her body. She wants to crawl, and is trying hard to figure it out.
Another first this week...Renee has her first cold. Her little nose runs all the time, and she sounds a little bit like a pig. No major fever (99 degrees, so far), but the crankiness has been difficult. She is a lot more tired, and fights it more than ever. Last night was like the first week we were home- I was up with her 5 times in the night!
Scott got a video camera for his birthday (thanks Mom and Dad C!), so we have taken tons of video. We will be adding videos to the blog soon...

Renee is almost 5 months old! Where has the time gone?
Our little girl is starting to reach some exciting milestones:
Our little girl is starting to reach some exciting milestones:
- Drooling: She drools like a running faucet!
- Turning over: She can turn onto her side from her back. She hasn't quite figured out how to complete the turn.
- Giggling: Renee loves to giggle! She will giggle at her toes when I show them to her, she will giggle during a diaper change, and she likes to giggle at Scott.
- Sitting up: If she has some support, Renee can sit up. We tried a Bumbo sitter, and she sat in it all by herself. Now, if I can just find a used one!
At her last doctor's appointment, Renee weighed 12 pounds 8 ounces (25th percentile), and measured 22.75 inches long (10th percentile) . She has gained 8 pounds and 4 ounces, and 5.25 inches since birth. She handled her 4 month vaccinations very well.
We have been enjoying visits with family and friends this summer. Grandma and Grandpa Ward came to Kalamazoo to watch Renee so Scott and I could go to the fireworks on Pine Lake, and the next day Grandma and Grandpa Cleveland came for a cookout and some Renee time.
